Maddox

Adult Male Tabby

Meet Maddox, our awesome new foster kitty here at Purrfect Tales! Get to know this sweet sensitive guy by reading his story below 🙂

– Princess Pony

Hi there. My name is Maddox. I’m quick as kitten, probably faster, and I love getting soft head and neck scratches. Though it seems like I might be a shy guy at first, I’m really not. I just don’t know how people will react to me and I overthink it sometimes. I mean nothing but love and cuddles.

The thing is, I’ve been bouncing from shelter to shelter and foster to foster for quite some time now. It would be incredible to find someone who could keep me forever and help get me back to my old self again. It might not be a love at first site kind of experience but my current human/kitty foster family will attest that it only takes a little patience to help me come out of my shell.

The kittens love Movie Night. Here we are enjoying some quality time 🙂

My current foster home is more than I could ever ask for. I am in the new kitty “on the block” coming through Purrfect Tales and all I can say is that everyone here has been very nice, even the little kittens. They are extremely playful and one of them thinks I’m some kind of horsey! If I start running, which is what I do when I think I did something bad or when I don’t know how else to react, I just run. The fluffy ballerina feets one, Titan, thinks I’m playing and he chases me until he can jump on my back. Sometimes it’s a chasing war and I could just keep on running with Titan chasing after me.

I don’t know too much about the kittens, but I have been trying to get them to like head bumps. They don’t quite get them, yet. Other than that, they let me cuddle next to them and and we even take long warm naps together.

I remember, when I first arrived with the Purrfect Tales family I immediately ran under the bed. My human foster parents were no fools, though. They took all my hiding spots away after a few days realizing I would probably not come out from under the bed or couch, even if they enticed me with tasty treats. I was in another foster home before this one where I kept getting bullied by another cat. I just could not get him to like me and I got used to hiding in different spots. At first I wasn’t sure how it would be somewhere new so hiding was my first instinct.

Another thing about me is that most people don’t believe me when I say how old I really am so lets just say I am 3 years old 🙂
“I mean, don’t I look 3 years old?” OK. My real age is 8. Yep, but I’m still faster than a kitten.

I’ve also been told I have “big beautiful eyes” but that makes me awful embarrassed. What do you think? I mean next to the kittens, I definitely have big eyes. I am not the greatest at talking about my best qualities because like I said, I bounced around from home to home, not ever finding quite the right fit, and it’s made me feel a little lost. I’ve been through a lot and can’t remember quite all the details of what happened but lets just say I was not the toughest kitty. I’m a lover not a fighter and I love giving everyone and every kitty head bumps.

Remember, I’m great with other kitties, even young playful kittens, and I am very loving.
I’m not a lap cat, nor do I like to be picked up (though, maybe some day I will).
BUT I enjoy conversations about how your day was over a nice cup of coffee, I just hope you don’t mind my funny sounding voice. Funny enough I got a permanent coffee stain on my chinny chin.

Maddox
